Consular Legalization

Legalization is a procedure used when a Tanzanian document needs to be certified for official use abroad. Each document requires a double certification: first by the authorities of Tanzania and secondly by the authorities of the country where the documents will be used (the receiving country). This second certification, which is generally provided by the embassy or consulate representing the receiving country in Tanzania, confirms the first certification and so validates the document for official use in the receiving country.

Certified Translation

Where Tanzanian documents are to be used abroad and where the receiving country has a different official language, a sworn or certified may also be required.
